To a solution of the isobutyl 4-(4-chloropyrimidin-2-yl)piperazine-1-carboxylate 8a and 2-(2-(difluoromethyl)phenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane 11a (1.2 eq) in acetonitrile was added Pd(PPh3)4 (0.10 eq), K2CO3 (2 eq) and water. The vial was sealed and heated by microwave irradiation at 120° C. for 15 minutes. The solvent was evaporated and the residue was dissolved in DMF and purified by reverse phase HPLC (using 10%-99% CH3CN (0.035% TFA)/H2O (0.05% TFA) to give 24. m/z 391.1 (M+1), r.t: 3.59 (10%-99% CH3CN (0.035% TFA)/H2O (0.05% TFA)).
