Following a similar procedure to that described in Example (55b), 1.40 g of 3-t-butoxy-4-{3-[(4-methoxyphenyl )-(1-methyl-1-phenylethylamino)methyl]phenylamino}-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione [prepared as described in step (c) above], 10 ml of trifluoroacetic acid and 35 ml of dichloromethane were reacted, to obtain 1.24 g of the title compound as a white solid.
