Experimental conditions analogous to those described for Step 3 of Example 1, from 52 mg (0.19 mmol) of 3-(3,4-dimethyl-benzoyl)-1H-quinolin-4-one, 9 mg (0.23 mmol) of 60% sodium hydride, 60 mg (0.23 mmol) of 2-bromo-6-(1-bromo-ethyl)-pyridine and 0.7 mL of N,N-dimethylformamide. Yield: 32 mg of a white solid: LC-MSD, m/z for C25H21BrN2O2 [M+H]+=461.0, 463.0; HPLC retention time: 2.6 min.
