Procedure
In a 250 mL three-neck round-bottom flask were placed 90 mL of chloroform, 10 mL of 0.20 M AIBN in acetone, 9.0 mL of styrene (inhibitor removed), and 1.0 mL of p-vinylbenzyl chloride. The mixture was refluxed for 24 h. At the conclusion of the reaction, the solution was cooled and the solvent was removed on a rotary evaporator and the sample was dried in a vacuum oven at 90° C. for 2 h.
