A round bottom flask was charged with methyl 2′-fluoro-5-(5-methylpyridin-2-yl)-6′-(trifluoromethyl)biphenyl-3-carboxylate (200.00 mg, 0.51368 mmol), Tetrahydrofuran (7.8 mL, 97 mmol) and Lithium hydroxide (36.906 mg, 1.5410 mmol) and the reaction stirred at room temperature over night and at 50° C. for two days. The reaction mixture was filtered over Sodium sulfate and the solvent removed under reduced pressure to get the acid as brown solid.
