Procedure
Diisopropylethylamine (0.49 mL, 2.81 mmol) was added to a solution of 6-chloro-N-(2-methoxypyridin-3-yl)-3-nitropyridin-2-amine (Preparation 22a, 0.26 g, 0.69 mmol) and (S)-1-(5-fluoropyridin-2-yl)ethanamine hydrochloride (prepared according to the method described in WO2006/82392A1, 0.13 g, 0.74 mmol) in butanol (5 mL) and the resulting mixture was stirred at 80° C. overnight. Subsequently, the reaction was cooled down, diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with brine (×3). The organic phase was separated, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulphate and the solvent removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (hexanes 100% to 1:1 hexanes/ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (253 mg, 94%) as a yellow solid.
