To a solution of #168 (50 mg, 0.21 mmol, 1 eq.) in methanol (0.2 mL) was added a solution of lithium hydroxide (9.2 mg, 0.38 mmol, 1.8 eq.) dissolved in water (0.1 mL). Next, tetrahydrofuran (0.3 mL) was added and the reaction was stirred at 45° C. for 18 hours. The reaction was concentrated in vacuo and the material was azeotroped (3×) with toluene (2 mL) to obtain #170 (51 mg, 100%) as a white solid which was used in the next step without further purification.
