Procedure
To a solution of 1-bromo-2-fluoro-5-methoxy-4-nitrobenzene (0.998 g, 3.99 mmol) in isopropanol (20 mL) was added iron (0.7 g, 12 mmol), ammonium chloride (0.64 g, 12 mmol) and water (2 mL). The reaction was stirred at 75° C. for 2 hours, then filtered and concentrated. The residue was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to give 4-bromo-5-fluoro-2-methoxyaniline (0.82 g, 93%).
