Procedure
Using procedure 49, 2-(dipropylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-5,6-dicarboxylate (92, 0.10 g, 0.28 mmol) was treated with p-methoxybenzylamine (0.05 mL, 0.4 mmol). Purification using silica gel, eluting with 5:1 CH2Cl2 /acetone, afforded an oil that was converted to an HCl salt and recrystallized from EtOAc to give 105 as a white solid (m.p. 255-256° C.).
