11 g (0.05 mol) of H-Arg(NO2)-OH are dissolved with 4.3 g (0.05 mol) of sodium bicarbonate in 200 ml of water under reflux. At 70° C., 7.1 g (0.055 mol) of ethyl isocyanato-acetate are added dropwise. The mixture is stirred at 70° C. for 1 hour, left to cool and stirred at room temperature overnight, 50 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid are added, the mixture is concentrated, 20 ml of 50% concentrated hydrochloric acid are added, the mixture is heated under reflux for 1 hour and substantially concentrated, and the precipitated product is filtered off with suction.
