Procedure

To the product of Example 37a or the product of Example 15 in ethanol is added an ethanolic solution of sodium ethoxide. After thin layer chromatography indicates the reaction is complete, it is concentrated and the residue partitioned between water and an extraction solvent. The dried organic layer is stripped of all solvent and the residue chromatographed to produce the title material.
