Procedure

Following General Procedure D and using L-leucine methyl ester hydrochloride (Sigma) and N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-D,L-alanine (from Example A above), the title compound was prepared as a solid (mp=120-132° C.). The reaction was monitored by tlc (Rf=0.49 in 1:1 EtOAc:Hexanes) and the product was purified by flash chromatography using 1:1 EtOAc:Hexanes as the eluent.
