Procedure
2a-(4-Bromobutyl)-2a,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-benz[cd]indol-2-one (190 mg, 0.62 mmol), 4-benzyl-piperidine (110 mg, 0.65 mmol) and potassium carbonate (120 mg, 0.88 mmol) were stirred overnight at 60° C. in anhydrous N,N-dimethylformamide (2 ml). The solvent was removed by evaporation under a reduced pressure, and the residue was mixed with ethyl acetate and water. The reaction product was extracted with ethyl acetate, washed with saturated brine and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, the solvent was removed by evaporation under a reduced pressure, and then the thus obtained material was separated and purified by a silica gel column chromatography to obtain 210 mg (1.1 mmol, 85% in yield) of the title compound.
