Procedure

The product of Step 2 was heated in 5 ml of acetic acid in the presence of 2.0 g ammonium acetate at 110° C. for 1.5 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (10 mL) and washed with water. The combined organic phases were washed with brine and dried over MgSO4. The mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by MPLC over silica gel eluting with 2% MeOH/CH2Cl2 to give the desired product. H1-NMR (CDCl3, 300 MHz):1.67 (m, 2H); 2.02 (bd, 2h); 2.75-3.0 (m, 3H); 4.29 bd, 2H); 5.12 (s, 2H); 6.19 (d, 1H); 7.03 (t, 2H); 7.18 (dd, 2H); 7.25-7.39 (m, 6H); 8.39 (dd, 2H); 8.52 (bs, 1H). FAB ms: C28H26N3O2F:455; Observed: 456 (M++1).
