CH3CHClCOOH (50 g)and CH2═CH(CH2)2OH (75 ml) were put into a flask and stirred and 10 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid was added dropwise thereto over period of 10 minutes at room temperature. The resulting reaction solution was added to 250 ml of a saturated sodium carbonate aqueous solution. Water (150 ml) and tert-butyl methyl ether (150 ml) were added thereto, followed by liquid separation to obtain a tert-butyl methyl ether layer as an organic layer. Further, the organic layer was washed with 150 ml of water, dried over magnesium sulfate and then subjected to filtration to obtain a crude liquid. The crude liquid was concentrated to obtain CH3CHClCOO(CH2)2CH═CH2.
