Procedure
A solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl (2Z)-2-[(4-bromo-2,5-difluorophenyl)(4-pyridinyl)methylidene]hydrazinecarboxylate (Intermediate 3, 250 mg) and DBU (95 μ) in THF (3 ml) was stirred at 150° C. in a microwave oven. After 30 min the mixture was partitioned between water and ethyl acetate and the organic layer was washed with water and brine, dried using a hydrophobic filter tube and concentrated under vacuum to give the title compound as an orange solid (150 mg).
