Procedure

A solution of Example 417A (1.50 g, 5.51 mmol) in DMF (18.0 mL) at 0° C. was treated with LiBr (526 mg, 6.06 mmol) and PBr3 (1.64 g, 6.06 mmol), warmed to room temperature, and stirred for 30 minutes. The solution was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel with 3:7 ethyl acetate/hexanes to provide the desired product.
