4-(Octyloxy)-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid (D5) (600 mg, 1 equiv) was stirred with HATU (859 mg, 1.2 equiv) and DIEA (1.63 mL, 5 equiv) in CH2Cl2-DMF (10 mL, 4:1, 3 equivalents) followed by addition of hydrazine (282 μL, 3 equiv). The reaction mixture was then diluted with ethyl acetate and washed with water and brine. The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound (661 mg). MS (ESI): 333.08 (MH+)
