Procedure
To a solution of 4-[3-(5-chloro-2-thienyl)-1-isopropyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]pyrimidin-2-amine (1 eq, 1.9 mmol) and triethylamine (4 eq, 7.5 mmol) in 10 mL THF was added acetyl chloride (2 eq, 3.8 mmol). The mixture was then stirred at room temperature overnight and the solvent was evaporated. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (heptane:ethyl acetate) to afford 220 mg of N-acetyl-N-{4-[3-(5-chloro-2-thienyl)-1-isopropyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl]pyrimidin-2-yl}acetamide (27% yield).
