Procedure

A suspension of 10 (2.6 g, 0.0091 mol) in AcOH (10 ml) and 48% HBr (40 ml) was heated at reflux for 10 hours. After stirring overnight at room temperature the solution was concentrated to dryness and the residue stirred overnight with saturated NaHCO3. The mixture was filtered to yield 1.36 g (65%) of 11.
