Procedure

To a stirred solution cis-3-[(4-cyclobutyl-1,4-diazepan-1-yl)carbonyl]cyclobutyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate (73 mg, 0.18 mmol) in DMF (3 ml) at RT was added potassium acetate (108 mg, 1.1 mmol). The mixture was heated at 110° C. overnight and then cooled to RT and diluted with DCM. The resulting mixture was washed with 1:1 H2O/brine and the organic phase dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated at reduced pressure to yield the title compound (50 mg, 94%), which was used without further purification.
