In 10 mL of ethyl acetate was dissolved 1-(3-chloropropyl)-3-(trityloxy)azetidine, and to the resulting solution was added 0.15 g of oxalic acid, after which the resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature. The crystals precipitated were collected by filtration to obtain 0.39 g of 1-(3-chloropropyl)-3-(trityloxy)azetidine oxalate.
