Compound (8) (1.20 g, 1.95 mmol) was reacted with decanoyl chloride (0.565 g, 2.96 mmol) in CH2Cl2 and 1N NaOH following the procedure used for (3). Purification by silica gel column chromatography with 2:1 EtOAc/hexane as the eluant provided 1.20 g (80%) of (10) as an oil: NMR δ 0.90 (t, 3H, J=6), 1.13-1.40 (m, 14H), 1.47-1.90 (m, 12H), 2.23-2.53 (m, 8H), 3.50-3.77 (m, 6H), 4.77 (s, 6H), 7.33 (s, 15H).
