Procedure

The title compound is prepared by dissolving N-{(1S,2R,3S,4R)-4-[2-chloro-6-(2,2-diphenyl-ethylamino)-purin-9-yl]-2,3-dihydroxy-cyclopentyl}-propionamide (Intermediate J) in a 2:1 mixture of acetone and 2,2-dimethoxypropane with a catalytic amount of toluene-4-sulfonic acid, and stirring at room temperature overnight. The volatile components are removed under reduced pressure to afford the title compound.
