Procedure

The title compound is prepared by adding N-{(3aR,4S,6R,6aS)-6-[2-Chloro-6-(2,2-diphenyl-ethylamino)-purin-9-yl]-2,2-dimethyl-tetrahydro-cyclopenta[1,3]dioxol-4-yl}-propionamide (example 235, step 1) to a premixed solution of sodium hydride (60% in oil) and 2-(4-chloro-phenyl)-ethanol (1 equivalent) in dry THF. The reaction is stirred at 50° C. for 48 hours, before quenching residual sodium hydride with excess aqueous ammonium chloride. The reaction mixture id then partitioned between ethyl acetate and water; the organic phase is washed consecutively with water and brine before drying over magnesium sulfate. Filtration and removal of the volatile components under reduced pressure yields the crude product; purification by column chromatography/crystallisation affords the title compound.
