To the product from step (iii) (0.8 g) in 1M aq HCl (20 ml), 4-methoxyphenylacetic acid (1.8 g) was added and heated under reflux for 48 h. The solvent was evaporated and the residue purified by SCX then by RPHPLC to give the subtitle compound, 164 mg.
