Procedure
A suspension of 7 mg of 80% NaH in 1 ml of anhydrous THF is added with a solution of 0.1 g of 6-butyl-2-dimethylaminomethylenamino-5-[(2'-methoxycarbonylbiphenyl-4-yl)methyl]pyrimidin-4-one under nitrogen atmosphere and with magnetic stirring. When bubbling is over, the yellow clear solution is added with 21 μl of methyl bromoacetate and, after 30', the solvent is evaporated off under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by FC (eluent CH2Cl2 --CH3OH 99:1), to obtain 92 mg of a yellow oil (84% yield).
