A solution of 5-amino-2-[(pyrrolidin-1-yl)methyl]benzoxazole (200 mg, 0.92 mmol) and diphenylcyanocarbonimidate (263 mg, 1.10 mmol) in isopropyl alcohol (3.5 mL) was stirred overnight at ambient temperature, the resulting white solid product, (Z)-phenyl N′-cyano-N-(2-(pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl)benzo[d]oxazol-5-yl)carbamimidate, was filtered and used directly for the next step (290 mg, 87%).
