Procedure
Expectedly, benzylic alcohols such as PhCH2OH, 4-CH3OPhCH2OH, 4-CF3PhCH2OH, and PhCHOHCH3 were also reactive (0.1 mmol substrate, 5 μmol Pd-POM-1, 1 ml TFT, 2 bar O2, and 110° C. for 20 minutes), all yielding the corresponding benzaldehyde derivatives or acetophenone with >95% yields with no observed by-products.
