A mixture of 2-amino-5-hydroxybenzoic acid (19.64 g, 128 mmol), 1,3,5-triazine (15.6 g, 192 mmol), and piperidine (9 mL, 92.4 mmol) were heated to 60° C. in methanol (60 mL) for 2 hours. After cooling to 0° C., the mixture was filtered. The solid was washed with cold methanol and dried under high vacuum to provide the product (15 g, 72%) as white solid.
