To a solution of 5-(4-bromo-3-methyl-phenyl)-3-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-2,4-dihydropyrrole (i.e. the product of Step 4, 2.0 g) in dimethylformamide (DMF) (50 mL) was added [1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]dichloropalladium(II) (“Pd(dppf)Cl2”, 0.16 g), Na2CO3 (0.59 g) and triethylsilane (1.4 mL). The mixture was purged twice with N2, then purged three times with CO and stirred under an atmosphere of CO overnight at 65° C. Then, the reaction was concentrated in vacuum and purified by flash chromatography on silica gel to afford the title compound (1.32 g, 74%).
