0.07 mol of 1-acetyl-4-(5-methoxy-1,2-benzisoxazolyl)piperidine and 110 ml of 6N HCl is refluxed for 6 hours and stand at room temperature to precipitate large amount of white deposit, which is recrystallized in ethanol to obtain 4-(5-methoxy-1,2-benzisoxazolyl)piperidine hydrochloride.
