Procedure

Pyrrolidine (0.06 mL, 0.72 mmol) was added to a solution of 3-benzyloxy-1-ethyl-6,7-difluoro-1H-quinazoline-2,4-dione (Example C, 0.2 g, 0.6 mmol) and triethylamine (0.17 mL, 1.2 mmol) in 30 mL of acetonitrile. The solution was warmed to reflux for 3 hours, cooled, and concentrated to a solid. The solid was dissolved in chloroform, washed with 1N HCl, saturated NaHCO3, brine, and dried over magnesium sulfate. The solution was concentrated to give 0.21 g of the title compound as a solid, mp 174-176° C.
