Procedure
(2R)-2-[(2-Bromophenoxy)methyl]pyrrolidine (1.84 g), potassium carbonate (1.09 g) and methyl iodide (0.49 ml) were stirred in dimethylformamide (10 ml) for 2 h at room temperature. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo and water added (50 ml). The mixture was extracted with diethyl ether (3×30 ml). The organic portions were combined and washed with water (2×20 ml), brine (2×20 ml) and dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo yielding the title compound as a pale orange oil (0.75 g).
