N-chlorosuccinimide (13 mg, 0.10 mmol) was added to a solution of tert-butyl 1-methyl-1,3,4,8-tetrahydro-2H-[1,4]oxazepino[6,7-e]indole-2-carboxylate (Intermediate 42, 0.030 g, 0.099 mmol) in THF (2 mL) and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was evaporated and the crude material was purified by preparative HPLC (XTerra C18, 50 mM NH4HCO3 pH 10-CH3CN) to give the title compound (17.5 mg) as a white solid. MS m/z 337 [M+H]+.
