4-Amino-6-chloropyrimidine-5-carbonitrile (0.88 g, 5.71 mmol) was added to a solution of (S)-1-(7-bromo-6-fluoro-1-methyl-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)ethylamine (1.11 g, 4.08 mmol) and DIPEA (2.6 mL, 14.7 mmol) in IPA (30 mL) and the resultant mixture stirred at 85° C. for 16 h. The reaction mixture was poured into water and the precipitated solid removed by filtration. The solid was washed with water and dried to give the title compound as an off white solid (1.61 g, 100%).
