Compound 4 (0.95 g, 2 mmol) and 10% Pd—C (0.02 mmol) were added to 20 mL of methyl alcohol and the air was replaced with N2. Hydrazine hydrate (4 mmol) was added and on the mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 24 hours. Water was added and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered, and the solvent was evaporated to provide 0.52 g of white solid in 88% yield. HPLC: 99%.
