Procedure

0.05 mole of the compound obtained in stage D is refluxed for 12 hours in the presence of 570 cm3 of methanol and 340 cm3 of 5N hydrochloric acid. The methanol is evaporated and the mixture is poured into ice and then basified with sodium hydroxide. It is extracted with ether.
