A mixture of 28.9 g of the 2-chloroacetic ester obtained in Example 1-1-1 and 40 g of dimethylformamide was added dropwise to a mixture of 12.4 g of sodium methacrylate, 3.0 g of sodium iodide and 50 g of dimethylformamide at a temperature below 30° C. The mixture was stirred at the temperature for 8 hours. 100 ml of water was added below 30° C. This was followed by ordinary post-treatment and recrystallization from toluene and n-hexane, obtaining 29.1 g of the target compound (yield 86%).
