Procedure

The product from Example 14 (15.8 g) was added to 96 ml of trifluoroacetic acid at room temperature. After being stirred for 30 inutes, the reaction mixture yielded white crystals which were collected by filtration, washed well with diethyl ether, and dried to afford 10.9 g of the title compound, m.p. 168°-171° C.
