(0.009 mol.) of 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-(4-hydroxybenzoyl)benzofuran with 1.4 g. (0.009 mol.) of 3-diethylaminopropyl chloride in 50 ml. of dry 3-pentanone containing 5.2 g. (0.04 mol.) of potassium carbonate by the method described in Example 1 gives the title compound.
