5-chloro-6-hydroxy-1,3-benzoxazol-2(3H)-one (0.93 g, 5 mmol) and imidazole (1.00 g, 15 mmol) were dissolved in dimethylformamide (10 mL) with stirring under inert atmosphere. Triisopropylsilylchloride (1.15 g, 6 mmol) was added and the resulting solution was stirred for 3 days. The reaction mixture was partitioned between water and heptane. The organic layer was washed with water and dried over magnesium sulphate, filtrated and concentrated, to give 1.45 g (85%) of the subtitled compound as a grey solid.
