Procedure

1.1. 10.0 g of 4-quinolinol in 30g of hydrazine hydrate are heated to 170° C. in an autoclave for 6 h. After cooling, the reaction mixture is dissolved in aqueous hydrochloric acid (total volume of the solution about 300 ml, pH about 1). Then, the mixture is made slightly alkaline (pH about 9) with concentrated aqueous ammonia solution. The separated crystals are filtered off and dried. There are obtained 8.0 g of 2-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)aniline of m.p. 122°-123° C.
