A solution of 6-phenyl-1-hexanol (2.9 g, 16.27 mmoles), CH2Cl2 (30 ml), triethylamine (4.76 ml, 34.16 mmoles) and p-toluensulphonyl chloride (3.26 g, 17.08 mmoles) was kept under stirring at room temperature for 1 night, washed with water, 5% HCl and NaHCO3 and evaporated to give 5.4 g of the title compound (yield: 100%).
