Procedure

Preparation phenyl acetic acid salt of racemic ethyl 3-amino-5-(trimethylsilyl)-4-pentynoate. Racemic ethyl 3-amino-5-(trimethylsilyl)-4-pentynoate (67 g) was reacted with 39 g of phenylacetic acid. The product was filtered and washed with hexane and dried in a vacuum oven to give 100 g the desired racemic ethyl 3-amino-5-(trimethylsilyl)-4-pentynoate phenyl acetic acid salt.
