6-(2-Morpholinoethoxy)-3-phenyl-2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-inden-1-one (500 mg, 1.21 mmol) obtained in Step 7 was placed into a flask and dissolved in CH2Cl2 (4.0 mL). To the resulting solution was added 1.0M HCl in diethyl ether (1.21 mL, 1 eq). The solvents were removed by rotary evaporation under reduced pressure to give the desired product in quantitative yield.
