Procedure

A solution of 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-4-nitroisoquinolin-1(2H)-one (50.0 mg, 0.16 mmol, 1.0 eq.), K2CO3 (22.15 mg, 0.16 mmol, 1.0 eq.), and Boc2 (34.9 mg, 0.16 mmol, 1.0 eq.) in DMF (1 ml) degassed with argon in a sealed tube is stirred at a.t. for 18 hours. The reaction medium is diluted with H2O. The organic phases are extracted with ethyl acetate (twice), washed with a saturated solution of NaCl (twice), dried over MgSO4 then concentrated under reduced pressure, in order to obtain a pure product (yield=100%).
