To a suspension of K2CO3 (93 mg), KI (90 mg) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (0.5 mL) were added 5-(3-chloropropyl)-1-(triphenylmethyl)-1H-tetrazole (137 mg, CAS 823797-34-8, preparation see Bosmans et al., WO2005003124 A1, page 23) and 3-chloro-4-[2-(2-chloro-pyridin-4-yl)-3,3,3-trifluoro-2-hydroxy-1-methyl-propyl]-phenol (99 mg, Example 133). The mixture was heated to 60° C. for 20 hours and TLC confirmed almost complete conversion. The mixture was allowed to cool and poured into water. The aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate and the organic extracts were washed with brine, dried and evaporated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (silica gel, gradient of ethyl acetate in heptane) to give the title compound as a colorless solid (100 mg). MS (neg. ion, m/e)=716.2 ((M−H)−).
