(R)-2-amino-3-(4-methoxy-benzylsulfanyl)-propionic acid methyl ester (30.7 g, 127.3 mmol) prepared in Step A was dissolved in DCM. Et3N (26.4 g, 190 mmol) and (BOC)2O (27.7 g, 127.3 mmol) were added thereto, and the mixture was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was distilled under reduced pressure to remove DCM, and was used in the next reaction without further purification.
