3-Iodo-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-7-carboxylic acid hydrazide (906 mg, 3 mmol) (prepared as described in 2 Step preparation of example 329) was suspended in THF (10 mL). Triethylamine (0.42 mL, 3 mmol) was added followed by pivaloyl chloride (0.37 mL, 3 mmol). The reaction was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. Concentrated sulphuric acid (0.5 mL) was added to the mixture and it was stirred 1 h further. The reaction was filtered, the solid washed with EtOAc and Et2O and dried to give 3-Iodo-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-7-carboxylic acid N′-(2,2-dimethylpropionyl) hydrazide (875 mg) as an off-white solid.
